Description

CRETACOLOR CLEOS graphite pencil 12 case widely covers the application range of graphics, design, art and architecture. Our CLEOS guarantee break resistance and easy sharpening. Artists’ supplies made of graphite have more than a long tradition in Austria.
Since time immemorial, this drawing medium has been used by internationally renowned Austrian painters to express themselves artistically, but the production of graphite products has also been associated with CRETACOLOR’s home country for centuries.
CRETACOLOR’s current range of graphite products is probably one of the most extensive of any premium manufacturer in the artists’ supplies market, if not the most extensive at all. We are especially proud of the fact that we are one of the last to still produce in Europe!
Whether for graphics, design, art or architecture, there are hardly any limits to the areas of application thanks to the various pencils, sticks, chunkies, powders, leads and more.
With the classic, wood-cased CLEOS Fine Art graphite pencils, there are 20 gradations (from 9B – 9H) to choose from. The gradation is mainly determined by the mixing ratio between graphite and clay. The higher the proportion of graphite, the softer and correspondingly darker the lead. This applies to all B grades, where the B stands for ‘black’. If the percentage of clay is higher, which is the case with the H (= ‘hard’) grades, the lead is harder and the smear lighter. The HB grade stands for ‘hardblack’, is medium hard and medium black and therefore ideal for writing. Grade F stands for ‘firm’ and is also medium black. In general, grades 9B-B are recommended more for artistic drawing and sketching, grades B, HB & F, depending on preference, for writing, and grades H-9H for technical drawing.
The premium graphite pencils of the CRETACOLOR brand are offered under the name CLEOS.
All gradations are available individually as well as in sets of 6, 12 & 24 of different hardness grades.
